How are AI-powered drones transforming Japan's forest restoration efforts?

AI-powered drones built in Kyoto are transforming reforestation in Japan.

These drones evaluate the land using AI and LiDAR, then release biodegradable seed pods that contain fungi, natural seeds, and nutrients. In less than an hour, each drone can plant more than 300 pods, covering a football field. 

By adapting to the environment and operating in solar-recharging swarms, they have been shown to achieve over 80% germination in experiments, significantly speeding up the recovery of ecosystems.
