The UK-based business Materials Nexus has made a significant advancement in sustainable energy by using artificial intelligence to build MagNex, an effective new magnet that doesn't require any rare-earth metals. 

Three months were needed for the entire process, which is 200 times quicker than traditional material discovery. 

MagNex provides an 80% less expensive and 70% less carbon-emitting alternative for electric vehicles and renewable energy systems by doing away with the requirement for costly, environmentally harmful, and geopolitically sensitive rare-earth elements.
